Cielo English, Founder, RYT,
Cielo is living her dream. Doing what she loves, sharing what she believes in, and continuing to be a student for life.
Cielo teaches classes that are creatively woven together with a variety of themes, sequencing & postures. Influenced by a background in competitive sports, alternative healing/holistic nutrition and science, Cielo provides practical knowledge of human anatomy in combination with the healing arts. Cielo's practice will invite you to step into the flow and experience a deeper awareness of self, to bring your observations off the mat and to manifest a balanced and fulfilling life.
While she supports you being “you,” she is eager to ignite your potential, and honors the balance between right effort & energy. Cielo celebrates the individual in a noncompetitive and safe environment, encouraging deep focus through breath, inner awareness, and a calm awakening of spirit. She is inspired by the process of Yoga which invites us to step into our skin to be engaged in the observation of our own experience. For the past 6 years Anusara Yoga has held her focus as it continues to expand her vision, heart, and mind. Cielo is currently in the process of becoming an Anusara Inspired teacher. Teaching Internationally and locally since 2002, Cielo offers classes in hatha, power, vinyasa, flow, yin, yoga therapy, & pre and postnatal yoga. You can join her in practice at www.myyogaonline.com. Tara Jones Tara's first experience with yoga was in a children's class in the 1980's. That same night she woke from a dream sitting in lotus. She knew then that there was something special about this weird class her mother signed her up for.
She rediscovered yoga in her twenties after finding a book in an alley. She brought the book home and began to practice in her basement suite. Several yoga epiphanies later she came to teaching through a desire to share the inner peace she found through regular practice. After taking time off to birth and care for her 2 young children she returns with a greater sense of what the body is capable of and a deeper sense of human nature.
Tara's classes focus more on the way yoga makes us feel than what we can do. She offers a nurturing flow with grace and humility.
"I breathe therefore I am."
Nathalie Saunders
As much as there is to experience in life, there is no life without breath. This is what I hope to bring into each of my classes, using my own experiences to draw students back to the simplicity of yoga. Having practiced myself for nine years I have found great reward in sharing my knowledge with others. I've completed a Level One Vinyasa teacher training with YYoga Flow Wellness as well as a Hatha teacher training with Prana Yoga.
I enjoy teaching a dynamic, heat building practice, with an emphasis on finding the ground beneath ones feet in order to let the mind fly. My greatest reward is to encourage and inspire others in their dedication to the practice so that yoga can enrich the lives we live and touch.
Zara Durrhani
I have been practicing yoga for over a decade. With a busy schedule of acting, modeling, and volunteering, I needed something that brought peace to my life. This journey for peace brought me to Bali where I trained with Shakti Mhi of Prana Yoga College, and it continues in my daily life.
Yoga is more than just physical. It is more than a workout. Yoga is tremendously mental and spiritual. With regular practice you will feel a change within yourself. You will feel more positive energy in your life. I believe the peace people feel in yoga can be taken mindfully into their daily lives.
I also believe that everyone's yoga practice is their own because physically each body is different. When people come into the practice it is not about competition. It is about honoring our body each day because some days we are more flexible than others, and respecting that.
I teach yoga to help people get more connected with themselves. I help them look within, because we are all our own gurus, our own masters.
Mandy Sheen Mandy Sheen’s love for yoga started nine years ago when she first began to practice asana, she also practiced as a child with her beautiful mama. The positive life changing results that her personal yoga practice brought her inspired her to share the gift of yoga. Mandy finished her teacher training in October 2005 for hatha and prenatal yoga. After endless amazing trainings around the city and beyond, she now teaches a wide variety of classes including hatha, power, flow, prenatal, post natal, kids and restorative yoga on a full time basis. Educating the birthing community being one of her goals, she also gives prenatal birthing workshops regularly. Mandy’s classes are taught with a very grounded, yet playful flow. Encouraging students to feel their bodies from within and move from a place of fluidity and gentleness using yoga foundations. She reminds her students to keep a deep and constant connection to their prana(life force) and how this can transform their lives when they bring conscious awareness in the present moment. Encouraging students not only to feel physically but emotionally, to travel deep within themselves to the beautiful light being they are, feeling and healing with every breath, every movement and every moment.
Mandy grew up in a house of love, truth and freedom and brings this to each of her classes, teaching through love and acceptance, encouraging her students to return to the natural state of love and truth.
Jennifer Boudreau I took my first yoga class in college in 2000 and found it both challenging and peaceful. I continued to practice, though in the past few years my study has become more focused. I recently completed my teacher training with Chris Chavez, studying the Anusara Yoga philosophy and principles. An optimist at heart, I look for the good in all things.
I like to get students moving with breath. Starting with a strong foundation, I focus on getting you into optimum alignment so you can get connected to your body and deepen your practice. My teaching style is supportive and light-hearted. I like to keep a positive and fun atmosphere.
I see the benefits yoga brings to my life all the time—calming myself with my breath in challenging situations and learning how to flow with life changes, opportunities and obstacles. The lessons and teachings from yoga are always evolving, making the practice a life-long journey.
I'm inspired by the human spirit, acts of kindness and the natural beauty that surrounds us here on the west coast.Andrea FraserWhen I discovered yoga, it was like finding a vast lake in the middle of a desert. Yoga helped me through an incredibly challenging time in my life by teaching me how to tap into inner resources of peace I never knew I possessed. That same love and light is within each of us, and I hope that my teaching will help you along your own path of discovery.
I feel truly blessed to be part of Vancouver's vibrant yoga community. I completed my teacher training in the Anusara style with Chris Chavez, and a mentorship with Mike Nichols. I'm currently working towards becoming an Anusara Inspired teacher. My classes are body-positive and blend together creativity, alignment, expansion, playfulness, and a good sweat!
